I had first really thought of going to Iceland in 2008 when my friend Galen had been dancing with Snoop Dogg on tour there. For one reason or another, my mom and I never made it there. Flash forward to 2009, my friend Betty and I were chatting about incredible places to see in the world and she mentioned that Iceland was one of the most interesting countries she has seen with her family. Her daughter in law, Mel, also happens to work for Iceland Air so she said she'd put us in touch when we were ready to go. I pitched the idea to my mom in June 2011 and booked us some flights for the trip to Iceland and then Finland for September 2011.
Mel was was a huge part of the planning stages off this trip. She provided us with touristy and non-touristy suggestions on places to go, see, and eat. We are so grateful!
